Give in to your yoga curiosity!

There is this weird misconception that you need to look a certain way, be a certain way and have experience to do yoga. Well, you don’t! Say goodbye to that mindset because you really are missing out and boy do I have a treat for you!!!!

How to I start?

Well, I am glad you asked! I want to introduce you to my gorgeous friend Franny, founder of FitYoga. If you trust me, even just a little bit, then you need to try her ‘Get Started’ package! Learning about Yoga has changed my life in a lot of ways. 

In 2014, I took my Yoga Teacher Training in Hawaii. This decision was mainly made as an excuse to travel and to help me learn how to combat the aches and pains from my sedentary job as a Dental Hygienist. In all honesty, I didn’t really know much about this “Yoga” thing (I’m still trying to figure it out). However, how and why I started practicing is not as important to me as what occurred after I started. 

Yoga helped me be OK with simply being myself and letting go of the pressure of trying to prove myself to everyone (a SUPER liberating feeling by the way, you should try it). Every class you go to, every person is at a different level, just trying to do their best, never any judgment.Teachers are always different as well, and it is not their ability to get their leg over their head (albeit impressive) that makes you want to get back into the classroom; it is the way they make you feel.  The more classes I took, I realized that every teacher has something different to share.  This got me thinking about what it was that I wanted to share with the people that stepped into my classroom. Super cool poses? Scratch that…touching my toes is still an issue. Then, I realized I have no control over what people will get out of their practice; everyone’s journey is different.  But, no one will learn about what they can gain from yoga if they never start. So, I decided I wanted to help people get started.  I want people to feel comfortable & included and I want them to have fun and be silly. 

Creating fitYOGA gave me a venue to do this; it gave me the freedom to make the class whatever I wanted it to be.  A chill environment and fun music, with a mix of yoga and interval workouts makes fitYOGA a class where everyone is welcome. The mix of yoga, exercise and relaxation encourages everyone to try new things and broaden their horizons.  I made this fitYOGA program to give people a way to get started on their own journey towards health and wellness, no matter where they are in the world.
